Mohamed Al-Lafi has over sixteen years of experience in nursing and patient healthcare, with specialised training in diabetes education and chronic disease management.
Mr. Mohamed obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan, in 2009. He went on to complete a Master of Nursing Science with a focus on diabetes at the University of Sydney, Australia, in 2016. In 2022, he conducted two notable research studies: ‘Factors Affecting Adherence to Oral Hypoglycaemic Medication Among Type 2 Diabetic Patients’ and ‘Harmonised Diabetic Ketoacidosis Management Interventions in Paediatrics and Adolescents.’ In addition to his clinical qualifications, he became a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) in the United States in 2021 and received a nursing licence from the Board of Nursing – State of New Mexico in 2023.
Mr. Mohamed has extensive experience in diabetes education, nursing leadership, and patient-centred care. He plays a key role in developing tailored care plans, enhancing patient understanding of chronic conditions, and driving quality improvement initiatives within the clinical setting.
Prior to joining Imperial College London - Diabetes & Endocrine Centre in 2013, Mr. Mohamed worked in nursing and diabetes care roles in both Jordan and Australia, contributing to evidence-based care across multidisciplinary settings.
Mr. Mohamed’s scope of practice includes diabetes education for patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, insulin initiation and dose adjustment, lifestyle counselling, medication adherence support, patient education for gestational diabetes, and the coordination of care for paediatric and adolescent patients with complex diabetes needs.
