Biography
Dr. Amna has 13 years of experience in Family Medicine.
Dr. Amna obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences at The United Arab Emirates University, UAE, in 2012. She then undertook her postgraduate training in Family Medicine at Ambulatory Healthcare Services and was awarded the Arab Board of Health Specializations certificate in Family Medicine in 2018. Additionally, Dr. Amna earned her Membership of The Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2018. Driven by a commitment to medical education, she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical and Health Education at The University of Manchester, UK, in 2022, and subsequently obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Education from The University of Edinburgh, UK, in 2024.
Dr. Amna has considerable experience as a Consultant Physician at Ambulatory Healthcare Services, Al Ain, where she was involved in the clinical management of a diverse patient population across all ages. Throughout her career, she has also played a vital role in the supervision and mentoring of medical trainees, as well as academic and research initiatives that aim to enhance standards of primary care practice.
Prior to joining Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre, Dr. Amna worked as a Consultant Physician at Ambulatory Healthcare Services, Al Ain.
Dr. Amna’s scope of practice includes comprehensive primary care for all age groups, diagnose and manage common acute and chronic medical conditions (e.g. diabetes, hypertension, asthma), provide preventive care and age-specific screenings (e.g. vaccinations, cancer screenings), wellness visits for all age groups, well-woman care, well-child care, health promotion and prevention (e.g. lifestyle modifications, smoking cessation), community health initiatives, and coordination of care with specialties when needed.
