Biography
Dr. George completed his pre-clinical medical education at St John's College, University of Cambridge, UK, between 1982 and 1985. He subsequently undertook his clinical medical training at Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School, UK, where he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MB, BChir) in 1988. Dr. George also obtained a Master of Arts (MA) from the University of Cambridge, UK, and was later awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) by the University of Cambridge for his research work. In addition, he completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PG Cert Med Ed) from the University of Bedford, UK. Dr. George is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators (F Acad Med Ed), and a Diplomate of the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine (Dip IBLM).
Dr. George served as Medical Director at Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre (ICLDEC) from 2020 to 2023 and previously held the role of Medical Education Lead at ICLDEC from 2015 to 2020. Prior to joining ICLDEC, he served as Associate Postgraduate Dean for Health Education East of England from 2011 to 2015 and as Associate Medical Director for Education from 2003 to 2013. Dr. George is SCOPE Certified in the Management of Obesity and has a strong interest in medical education, leadership development, lifestyle medicine, and the advancement of patient-centred care.
Prior to joining Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre (ICLDEC), Dr. George worked at Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust, United Kingdom.
