Dr. Hassan Elasha

Dr. Elasha graduated from the University of Khartoum, Sudan, where he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He subsequently underwent postgraduate specialist training in the United Kingdom and was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST). Dr. Elasha is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP UK). He is also SCOPE Certified in Obesity Management through the Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education programme. 

Dr. Elasha has extensive experience in the management of diabetes, endocrinology, obesity, and metabolic disorders. His clinical interests include the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, complex diabetes cases and diabetes-related complications, obesity and cardiometabolic disorders, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome, thyroid disorders, pituitary disorders, adrenal disorders, reproductive endocrinology, osteoporosis, and metabolic bone disease. 

Prior to joining Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre (ICLDEC) in 2011, Dr. Elasha worked as a Consultant Endocrinologist at Al Ain Teaching Hospital, United Arab Emirates. 

Scope of Practice 

Dr. Elasha’s scope of practice includes general diabetes, complex diabetes cases, diabetes-related complications, prediabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, male hypogonadism, polycystic ovary syndrome, osteoporosis, menopause and perimenopause, pituitary disorders, metabolic syndrome, lipid disorders, hypertension, general medical conditions, obesity, post-bariatric surgery care, and calcium and bone disorders.
